IGNITE is a comprehensive youth program designed for grades 6th through 12th. Weekly fellowship meetings are held at 5:00 PM with dinner, games, worship, and devotions. Retreats and trips are held through out each year which includes a week at Panama City Beach, snow skiing, and a ropes course retreat. Meetings are held on the third floor of the Christian Life Center in the multipurpose room. Through our youth ministry, weekly small groups are offered on Wednesday nights as well as our Reel to Real Faith Series.

Reel to Real Faith is hosted on Sunday mornings in the Show Room which is located on the third floor of the CLC (room #301). This weekly event is for middle and senior high students. The youth first join together for a multimedia presentation and then divide into middle high and senior high groups for discussion.

Youth Small Group meetings are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 PM until 7:45 PM on the third floor of the CLC. These groups are designed to strengthen student’s faith, increase accountability, build strong Christian friendships, and promote Bible application. Groups are available for students 6th through the 12th grades.

A special class is held for sixth graders each year and for those who have not previously been confirmed. Begininning on Sunday School Promotion Sunday for all classes, the class will be for confirmands and those preparing to be confirmed, receiving full membership in the church, and will include a retreat and conclude with confirmation. The classes will be held on Sunday mornings during the regular Sunday School hour from 9:45 to 10:45 AM. The fall session will include regular sessions with a teacher, video and workbook. The Spring Session will involve time with a mentor each week who will work with the confirmand on the basis history and theology of the church and an understanding of what is necessary to become a Christian Disciple.

"Holy moments" are occurring throughout the world today. They are defined as a time when you feel the power of God and holy moments frequently occur when we are in mission to others. At FUMC Vero Beach, many of our youth have experienced such a holy moment during the summer mission trip. Holy moments help to shape our lives by reminding us that God is calling us to share in his ministry and his Kingdom. When we experience such moments they shout to us, “You fit here!"
