The Disciple Bible Study Series consists of four different Bible studies that last from thirty-two to thirty-four weeks. Disciple I should be taken first but the remaining three do not have to be taken in any particular order. The studies usually begin in September and end in May. They have been widely acclaimed for the depth of their instruction as well as the personal dynamics of group-building that is molded into the study. Every individual should take advantage of these four studies.
DISCIPLE ONE BIBLE STUDY
“Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study”
This thirty-four week study for adults and youth moves through the Biblical story from Creation to the New Jerusalem. It is aimed at transformation, not just information. This small group study has no prerequisites. There is a cost of $30.00 for the manual.
DISCIPLE TWO BIBLE STUDY
“Into the World”
This thirty-two week study of Genesis-Exodus and Luke-Acts continues the familiar DISCIPLE format, teaches basic study skills for going deeper into scripture, links Bible study to witness and service, emphasizes practice of the spiritual disciplines, encourages Sabbath-keeping as trusting in God, and calls for evaluating and reordering life’s priorities in response to God’s call. This small group study requires that Disciple One be taken first. The manual costs $30.00.
DISCIPLE THREE BIBLE STUDY
“Remember Who You Are”
A thirty-two week study of the Prophets and Paul’s Letters. It identifies God’s people as a community of memory, sets the Prophets and Paul’s writings in historical and geographical context, introduces the context portfolio of maps and charts, and echoes the demand of the Prophets and Paul to put God first – to be a community of obedience. This small group study requires that Disciple One be taken first. There is a cost of $30.00 for the manual.
DISCIPLE FOUR BIBLE STUDY
“Under The Tree of Life”
This thirty-two week study of the Writings (Old Testament books not in the Torah or the Prophets, the Gospel of John, and Revelation) addresses community and individual life, taps into the powers of the Psalms and reveals the distinctive character of the Gospel of John. This small group study requires that Disciple One be taken first. There is a cost of $30.00 for the manual.
